Iboga

Iboga refers to the psychoactive root bark Tabernanthe iboga. It has been used by pygmies as well as Bwiti tribes for centuries in Western Africa, particularly in Gabon. Some Bwiti-initiated westerners practice ceremonial administration of iboga to help treat substance use and mental health disorders, or for spiritual awakening purposes. Browse all iboga articles.
