Dr. Dao currently practices as a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology at Georgetown University. Dr. Dao is licensed to practice medicine in VA, MD, and DC. He practices within the Acute Pain Service at Georgetown University Hospital, with a particular interest in the treatment of Fibromyalgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, post laminectomy pain syndrome, regional pain blocks and acute postoperative pain control. He has extensive experience with the use of ketamine infusions for postoperative pain control in postsurgical patients and patients with chronic pain syndromes. As a staff member at Georgetown, Dr. Dao currently teaches medical students, residents, nurse anesthetics and anesthesia assistants in Anesthesia practice and the treatment of acute and chronic postoperative pain control. Dr. Dao has received numerous awards and distinctions for his practice in anesthesiology and has demonstrated his commitment to service through volunteer efforts, including his time as an AmeriCorps volunteer for Healthcare for the Homeless in San Francisco, CA, working in the city’s homeless medical clinics and needle-exchange programs.
