Brooksie is a licensed professional counselor and body-mind integration specialist with over 20 years of experience.
After graduating from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and a Master’s degree in Community Counseling, she moved to North Carolina to study massage and bodywork therapy. She then founded her own private practice, which allowed her to deepen her work with individuals, families, and the community. After becoming a Hospice Volunteer, Brooksie completed her Death Doula Certification from Doorway Into Light in the spring of 2018.
Brooksie is honored to provide integration support, massage therapy, hands-on healing, energy work, body talk practices, and music for healing through her work with heart2heart, a nonprofit committed to helping people navigate the living path from diagnosis to death and beyond. These modalities can help with muscle and joint pain as well as reduce anxiety and depression in support of individuals through times of loss, grief, transition, and fear. One of Brooksie’s great passions is working with musicians to create a soundscape for healing. For many years, she has utilized these modalities in conjunction with one another to promote healing and the reclamation of bodily and emotional integrity as part of the body-mind integration process. She follows the orientation that deep stillness, unconditional love, non-judgment, and kindness hold a holy space for healing.
