How I work with Clients
In my therapy room, I offer a safe place where you'll be accepted for who you are. You will never be judged. I am compassionate and truly care about your wellbeing.
You'll feel understood and supported as you strive to overcome your problems to create a more rewarding life.
I trust that there is a deep part of you that knows what you need. I'll help you get more in touch with that part so that you have more clarity in moving forward.
With my input, you'll ultimately determine the direction of therapy and the goals you want to achieve.
I will always respect you, your problems, and your process in therapy. My ultimate goal is to help you develop the inner and outer resources to help yourself.
I have an integrative approach to counseling, focusing on humanistic, attachment, and family systems theories.
I'm flexible and use whatever therapy approaches are most useful to you at any given time.
The humanistic approach guides me in being empathic and compassionate while helping you work with and expand on the inner strengths that you already have.
The goal is for you to accept yourself for all your strengths and weaknesses.
Attachment theory helps us understand how you're navigating the relationships in your life - areas that are working in a positive way for you, as well as areas that are causing or have caused you stress and pain.
We work to help you build a more secure and safe attachment style so that your relationships are less stressful and more positive.
Family Systems Theory
Family Systems theory enables us to look at the role your family and other social systems in your life are helping or hindering you from getting what you want.
I utilize the above 3 approaches to help you increase your awareness of your problems and what is causing them.
Together, we then work to heal your stress and pain from the past. Finally, we'll explore alternatives to deal with any future challenges you face.
