I have an integrative approach to counseling, focusing on humanistic, attachment, and family systems theories.
I’m flexible and use whatever therapy approaches are most useful to you at any given time.
Humanistic Approach
The humanistic approach guides me in being empathic and compassionate while helping you work with and expand on the inner strengths that you already have.
The goal is for you to accept yourself for all your strengths and weaknesses.
Attachment Theory
Attachment theory helps us understand how you’re navigating the relationships in your life – areas that are working in a positive way for you, as well as areas that are causing or have caused you stress and pain.
We work to help you build a more secure and safe attachment style so that your relationships are less stressful and more positive.
Family Systems Theory
Family Systems theory enables us to look at the role your family and other social systems in your life are helping or hindering you from getting what you want.
I utilize the above 3 approaches to help you increase your awareness of your problems and what is causing them.
Together, we then work to heal your stress and pain from the past. Finally, we’ll explore alternatives to deal with any future challenges you face.
