Sarah’s practice weaves together various healing modalities from both indigenous and western origins, including somatic experiencing, depth-psychology, action-oriented goal setting, earth-based/shamanic practices, and storytelling. Sarah is guided by her training, experience, and intuition in creating a blended approach tailored to serve the unique needs of each individual client.
Sarah’s background and training in both Western medicine and indigenous healing modalities uniquely position her to serve as an effective bridge between these two worlds, and to assist clients in safely and effectively implementing insights they have received during a medicine ceremony into their daily lives. Over the past 7 years, Sarah has been actively studying, participating in, and researching various indigenous medicine lineages. She has made it a part of her mission to continue to build and implement appropriate safety and ethical guidelines to ensure participants, their leaders, and the earth are respected, safe, and psychologically held.
Her Integrative Counseling practice combines the holistic counseling services outlined above with a specific focus on plant medicine integration. Integration is the process through which visions, messages, and insights received through a transpersonal state are brought to conscious awareness and transformed into a deeper awareness of self. It is through proper integration that the benefits of indigenous medicine work can be experienced in their fullest and most lasting form. Without proper integration, entheogenic work has the potential to be disruptive and destabilizing.
Sarah works with and welcomes people of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identity. Areas of focus in which Sarah has received specific training and expertise include:
