Suzy Daren is the founder of Williamsburg Yoga Psychotherapy and a licensed New York State marriage and family therapist. Since 2008, Suzy has worked in private practice counseling a diverse population of individuals, couples and families.

Suzy is a pioneer in the emerging field of yoga psychology, having studied its healing benefits since 1995. She maintains a dedicated spiritual practice and is relentless in her ever-increasing knowledge of yoga’s science and mysticism. Suzy is currently assisting her mentor, Dharma Bodhi, in developing a comprehensive system of Tantrik Psychology and intends to spend the rest of her career disseminating its therapeutic application.

In session, Suzy is a deep listener and responds to each client’s unique constitution and desired outcomes. Implementing a truly integrative approach between East and West, and the body, mind, and spirit, treatment modalities may include: Hatha yoga, ayurveda, breathing and meditation practices, depth psychology, psychodynamic therapy, existential psychology and other current best practice psychotherapies.

Suzy has a deep conviction in the use of sacred medicines for psychospiritual growth and healing. She acknowledges that psychedelics and other psychoactive substances may offer an expedient route into the psyche that often takes many years for even the most devout of spiritual practitioners to attain without their use. She works with those who independently use psychedelics to assist them with the integration of their journeys into their baseline of consciousness, as this process can support the healing of past trauma, relief from anxiety and depression, the cessation of unhealthy compulsions and habits, and the revelation of one’s highest potential.

It is Suzy’s most sincere desire that all beings diminish their suffering, optimize their potential, and know their true nature.
