Dr. Compton works with adults across the continuum of psychiatric care, from people requiring psychiatric hospitalization to people who feel stuck in an area of their life. She uses various medical interventions including psychotherapy, psychiatric medication, psychedelic psychotherapy (currently with Ketamine only), electroconvulsive therapy and other practices such as yoga and meditation. She has enjoyed being a member of BPA since 2009, working in different settings and with a range of acuity, a diverse population and thoughtful colleagues who offer high quality care. One of her practice areas is Ketamine Therapy. Ketamine is a flexible tool that can be used for treatment resistant depression, suicidality, or for transformational work in an expanded state of consciousness that allows for psychological insight, trauma processing, and relief from habitual states of mind and emotion that enables cognitive and behavioral change.

She seemed nice at first. She would offer to meet me in the hospital parking lot to give me meds if she forgot to give them to be during our appointments. She offered to meet after hours and on weekends. Please advise to seek help elsewhere. I had a terrible experience & there was no one else around to get help from. She left me alone after less than 1 hr to go start her vacation.
She takes advantage of vulnerable women. Beware. Wish I never did ketamine w this very sick explosive unpredictable person.
Unsafe ketamine provider. Unprofessional
Dr. Compton has a broad range of knowledge, is a good listener, and can see complex situations. The ketamine therapy she did with me changed my life. I will always be grateful.
she misdiagnosed me. unfortunately that misdiagnosis is on my medical record and should I ever want to divorce my abusive husband he could easily use to to prevent me from having custody of my kids. her diagnosis was done in haste without listening to nor respecting my therapists work with me. the diagnosis she gave me has left lasting damage to me and harmed me. I don’t know if she ever made an oath to do no harm but she certainly has caused me great and long term harm.
It is not possible to thank Dr. Compton enough for saving our son’s life and being there for the whole family through difficult times. She is a great doctor and an even better person.
Dr. Compton is highly educated and when she cares to be attentive, she provides helpful insight. However, the negatives outweigh the positives. I worked with her for 3 years. She was casual with my privacy, with one confirmed HIPAA violation (she contacted an abusive family member after I insisted she never contact my family). She cut many of our sessions short and was clearly hurried and inattentive during most of them. Dr. Compton very hastily diagnosed me with a serious, permanent condition on our first meeting. She would not budge from this diagnosis even though I insisted it was unhelpful and unfitting (multiple other providers were consistent with my actual diagnosis). She refused to consult with my previous providers and refused to collaborate with my therapist, who tried connecting with her repeatedly (with no reply). She has yelled at me and treated me with extreme disrespect and indifference during my most vulnerable times.
Dr. Compton is caring, professional and knowledgeable. I trust her implicitly. She got me through one of the most difficult transitions in my life.
