Hello! My name is Makenzie Darling and I am a licensed Minister who hosts sacred plant medicine ceremonies as well as monthly microdose protocols. I graduated from a three-year seminary training program that specialized in bridging the worlds of indigenous wisdom and Western psychotherapy.
I am also a trained Enneagram facilitator and use this framework to deepen a client’s self-discovery process. The Enneagram is an ancient archetypal self-discovery tool that uncovers the patterns of behavior that subconsciously drive and motivate people. Combined with plant medicine, it can bring about greater self-awareness and help deepen the preparation and integration work. I am also certified in integrative somatic trauma therapy and have studied Gabor Matte’s Compassionate Inquiry, Internal Family Systems, Hakomi, and Nature-Based Expressive Arts Therapy.
I began my career working for a documentary film studio hosting global film premieres around the world inspiring conversations about how to elicit more empathy, kindness, justice, and spirituality in the world. These films were based on the positive psychology approach to psychotherapy, which studies the strengths and virtues that enable individuals, communities, and organizations to flourish.
Using my background in positive psychology and my love for travel, I began creating “Strength Builder” retreats around the world that asked people to wander with purpose. I also began offering pilgrimages down to San Jose Del Pacifico where people could study with a Zapotec family doing sacred mushroom ceremonies in the foothills of Mexico.
I have now founded Row and Release Ministry, a sacred place where people may work with plant medicines either individually or within a group ceremony. I also offer community events, workshops, and medicine retreats.
