I'm trained as a medical anthropologist. This branch of cultural anthropology deals with questions such as: how do people experience health and illness, how do people use culture to create meaning in suffering, etc. Humans are meaning-making machines - we relate to our world through stories. Stories we tell about the world, but also about ourselves. This premise is not only central cultural anthropology, but also in narrative therapy - a field from which I draw a lot of inspiration in my coaching. During the decade that I worked as a counselor in out-patient settings (with adults with chronic and severe psychiatric conditions) I was trained in various modalities in addiction healthcare, client-centered care, vocational training for patients and more.
Completed modules A&B of MAPS "MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy for PTSD". Online module & in-person training week in 2018. Kosmicare training (psychedelic harm reduction at Boom Festival, Portugal) in 2012, 2014 and 2018. Zendo training (psychedelic harm reduction at Burning Man Festival, USA) in 2014. Psycare training (psychedelic harm reduction at Psy-Fi Festival, Netherlands) - content creator & facilitator in 2017.
