Psilocybin Mushroom Retreats in Mexico. We provide education, information and guidance about your healing with psychedelics. Community, integration and a judgement-free environment guide our views.
Our mission is to bring sacred psychedelics and ceremony into the wellness space.
We aim to promote and give a platform to the many women healers working in psychedelics. We do this by highlighting the Mexican spiritual traditions and modern applications of these sacred plant medicines.
We are known for our humorous, light-hearted approach to even serious, deep healing. We believe that in a supportive environment, we can release our deepest trauma and bring joy back into our lives.
Our retreats include classes in mindfulness meditation and in certain areas employ the help of sacred teacher plants such as Ayahuasca, psilocybin mushrooms, San Pedro cactus and cannabis.
Each retreat group consists of a 3:1 ratio of guests to leaders. We cater to those wanting a luxurious, pampered and caring retreat that allows a deep dive into this sacred medicine.
We combine the sacred with the modern; the traditional ways with a fresh perspective; the divine with the everyday.
What are The Buena Vida Retreats?
The goal of The Buena Vida Retreats is to provide safe access to healing plant medicines within the context of ritual and ceremony. We believe these plants are tools that can help humanity awaken to their creativity, joy and inherent ability to heal themselves. Our retreats aim to give a holistic container to healing; one that uses sound, movement, and most importantly, a sense of community.
While we know that the plants can heal deeply, we also know that they are just a tool in our vitality tool belt. Try on the the unique beauty of vulnerability and sharing in a non-judgmental community. We introduce a type a meditation that you can fully understand and utilize. We’ll dive deeply into our inner selves to discover the personal ways in which mind, body and spirit need to thrive.
The plants open the heart, the sound moves energy and our leaders provide a space to be your authentic self.
Amanda Schendel is our Psilocybin Plant Medicine Healer.
Amanda’s goal as a Psychedelic Leader & Guide is to bring a warm, caring service to humanity. She serves unique medicine not only to guests, but also facilitators in their growth and development, education and well-being. She serves by showing people their true nature, where they’ve lost connections and by giving them the tools to continue the daily work outside of the retreat setting. As an advocate of the safe, responsible use of psychedelics, she strongly supports the use of medicine traditions surrounding their ancient healing.
Amanda plays many roles; retreat producer, leader, facilitator, joke maker and shaman-in-training. She just may provide you with a song or two during ceremony.
She is a highly intuitive guide and has trained, assisted and facilitated in over 500 psychedelic ceremonies using ayahuasca, San Pedro (Huachuma cactus), psilocybin, cannabis, tobacco, and rapé.
Amanda brings a seasoned, varied and light-hearted approach to even deep medicine work.
At The Buena Vida, we have several specialized advisors including behavioral therapists, neurological specialists, ethnobotanists, and shamans/elders in plant medicine study. However, it’s very important to stress that this is NOT A THERAPY OR TRAUMA retreat. We will not be employing traditional, western modalities of psychotherapy. The goal of the retreat is to safely (emotionally, physically and spiritually) “stay out of the way” of the healing each guest receives from the mushroom journey. All of our leaders have been trained on all modern modalities of harm reduction, emotional wellness safety as well as having sat with many guests during the process. It’s our opinion that, in this world of psychedelic healing, training and experience is of utmost importance.
